Snowden Says He Was Trained As A Spy

MOSCOW — In an effort to fight back against critics who dismissed him as a low-level hacker, the former CIA and NSA contractor Edward Snowden said in an interview with NBC that he was "trained as a spy in sort of the traditional sense of the word."

"I lived and worked undercover overseas — pretending to work in a job that I’m not — and even being assigned a name that was not mine," the 30-year-old now living in Moscow added, in the interview to be aired Wednesday evening.
